Uniters EP2000
Uniters edge paint needs no introduction, it is well known, and well used by many artisans around globally, and we are proud that we finally got our s**t together and start selling these.
While a common intuition might be to stock the primary colors and adjust with black and white, I’ve found it’s not the most convenient way to achieve the perfect shade. That’s why, instead of stocking some of the standard Uniters colors, we offer a selection of unique and stunning shades to help you find the color you’ll love most for your leathercraft projects.
Edge paint is vital in leathercraft, particularly with soft to medium temper, chrome-tanned leather. Once the thin layer of edge paint is firmly dry, using the filleteuse with an FN creasing tip compresses the edge, leaving a beautiful crease line. The FN tip is especially effective because its groove is designed to compress and gently round over the sharp, raw, freshly cut edges of the leather, providing a smooth, durable finish.
Tips and tricks
The edge of the leather ideally should be sanded clean and smooth without any ridges. We recommend the 3M 362L Sandpaper for edge finishing.
Drying time depends on the thickness of the edge paint you apply on the edge, it can go anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. Sit aside and meditate, especially after thick coats.
No real exact steps to follow to get the perfect results, you should feel free to explore the techniques and routine that yields the best results for yourself.
Shake well before use!
Notes
We promise that we do try to be as accurate as possible when it comes to colour representation on the screen, but please forgive us if the colour does not come out exactly as you would expect, there are too many factors to account for.
During Winter, there is a risk of the edge paint freezing during transportation. We hope that doesn't happen, but please do not hesitate to contact us if your edge paint ends up as slushies, we will try to make it up.
