Artemis intends to pronounce the contrast between angular geometry and organic curves.

Restricted interpretation narrows one’s sense of choice: in how one perceives, and in the significance one assigns to difference.
It seeks to unite qualities that are certain and deterministic—concrete geometries grasped through sight—with those that are fluid and adaptable, discerned by touch.
The freedom to recognize sameness not as the absence of contrast, but as its reconciliation.
Steel
The steel used in Artemis was chosen through a lot of trial and error. It’s made using Electroslag Remelting (ESR), a refining process that results in cleaner, more consistent material—something that really shows over time. It’s hardened to 55 HRC, which we’ve found to be a sweet spot: tough, reliable, and able to hold a good edge without being brittle.
It costs roughly 2.5× the cost of 440C, not because we were chasing numbers, but because we wanted something that felt right in use. The goal wasn’t to impress on paper—it was to make something that performs well, holds up under real work, and feels dependable every time you pick it up.
Edge Geometry
The bevel angle is honed to approximately 70–80 degrees. It’s not meant to slice on contact, but to separate leather fibers cleanly when struck with intention. This reduces surface drag and gives a clean cut without unnecessary tearing.
Prong Profile
The prongs are designed to be narrower than average, but also fatter. The idea is to remove as little leather fiber as possible while still opening a passage large enough for thread and needle to pass through without resistance—less trauma to the leather, better structural integrity along the stitch line.
Surface Finish
Artemis is treated with a QPQ finish (Quench-Polish-Quench), giving it a dark, matte surface. This adds corrosion resistance and provides a dry, grippy texture that’s easier to control—even with sweaty hands.

I was sure they will work great - I have earlier edition of french Junlins (those with hole in handle) and they are stunning. But Artemis is even better - quite heavy for it's look and super comfy in hand. And the tooth - wow! They are slim, narrow but little fat - just as junlin describes them. The holes are soooo nice, clean and easy to stitch. Andthe result of stitching - stunning. Even with thin 0,4mm thread. Absolutely masterpiece.
I have sets of three sizes and like them all. They feel like an extension of the hand, making it easier to punch a cleaner stitch line compared to some other irons that I have used. Now, if only Junlin would carry a matching set of awls in both diamond and flat configurations.
Beautiful Pricking Irons
The narrow width of the tooth allows for precise stitch hole placement and accurate result. However, the narrow teeth can result in clean but boring stitches when not accompanied with an awl. Definitely one of the best pricking irons out there.

These are, by some distance, the best irons I have used. The design, the feel and the performance are better than I could have hoped for … simply superb.

Beautifully crafted tools. Very sharp. Only needed a slight tap to get through the leather vs harder hits that used to make my dog run away. Very high quality. Definitely recommend.
I've been waiting for these to come out for a while and I couldn't be happier with the final product! They are really comfortable to work with, sharp out of the box, but not too sharp that would make them too delicate. As compared to Vergez Blanchard irons that I worked with before, these are in a completely different league.

Just received my new 3.38 Artemis irons and am excited to try them out on some wallet builds soon. Have only had time to do some test stichlines with some #8 and #5 vinymo thread so far but those are looking nice. The irons feel great in the hand and I like the smoothed edges and finish. Will be interested in grabbing a 3.85 in the future.
