Maxita Stitching Pony

I recently purchased leather tools from JunLin Leather and couldn't be more satisfied with my experience. The quality of their products is exceptional, making my leather crafting projects much more enjoyable and efficient. No Regrets! This was on my list of "things to get" so I finally broke down and ordered the this - Tandy on the left for some comparison. Order was placed on a Friday (didn't really expect a response until Monday) and was delivered on the following Thursday - 4 days from Malaysia to Texas (impressive).

Communication was Great, Shipping was Great. *If you have any issues with the website, just use the Shopify app.
It's nice that it can be mounted high or low (first two pics show the vertical bar going up, third goes down) - mounting low also gives you a cork bobber for needles (third pick). I didn't fully test the range but it appears to be able to attach to up 4 1/2". I REALLY like that the cam is recessed so thread doesn't get caught on it. I also like that the tension can be adjusted from the center. Bonus - It also came with a Full set of Allen wrenches!

Not much for cons/downsides: it's a bit wobbly if the horizontal and vertical bars are used at their extreme limit but that's just physics and to be expected. Clamps weren't already covered in leather but I don't really see that as a "con", glad that it's left to me to do myself. Overall, NO REGRETS, and will buy from again!

I saw this at other sellers but they were sold out. If you're on the fence about international shipping, 4 days is little to worry about.

I use(d) a floor standing pony - it was fine but I always felt there was better … there is better and this pony is it. Beautifully made and endlessly versatile.

I knew it would be great though, because you can only buy great with JunLin … I’d buy my groceries from him if he was selling. Fabulous guy - customer service is unmatched.

This thing is awesome!! I’ve use a few stitching pony’s over the years and none compare to this one. Well thought out and well constructed. Very easy to adjust for both position and leather thickness. Clamping jaws are nice and deep and hold well. I am very satisfied with this product.

Its highly adjustable design makes it incredibly ergonomic. I didn’t realize how many different working angles and positions I could fine-tune for each task.

This a high quality great tool. I’ve tried several Stiching ponies from cheap simple ones to much better expensive ones but this is the best by far. Worth saving up for, makes hand stiching so much faster and of higher quantity. Well designed high quality materials and works great. Highly recommended.

The stitching pony itself is very well-thought-out and sturdy, it's a joy to use!
Just be aware that it's a big stitching pony and it takes quite a bit of space, I would probably mostly recommend it to people who have a dedicated space for leatherworking.

The 2 screws anchoring the pony to the desk brace is so loose. I had to replace it with my own longer button screws to secure it.

I can recommend this beautiful sewing pony. The design and functionality are excellent.

I recently found the Maxita Stitching Pony online and thought that would support an ergonomic stitching position. And it is. The pony can be adjusted on a table and with the telescopic mechanism is can be adjusted in multiple angles. It is very stable and well crafted. I really love the Maxita Stiching Pony and can recommend it.

This product is beautifully made. I would highly recommend it. The only item that needs work are the two screws that hold the pony to the metal pole. They do not keep it firmly in place, which allows it to wobble. I purchased two longer bolts from the hardware store with the same threading and used them in place of the two provided screws to hold everything tightly in place and now it is PERFECT!

Fantastic sticking pony.
Looked at lots of different configurations for quite some time. Almost all had limitations in terms of versatility except this style. Not only looks like furniture but built like a rock. Very satisfied.

I was quite impressed when I received my Jun Lin stitching pony. And I'm not easily impressed. It arrived VERY quickly from the time I placed my order. It was packed with great care. Customer service was extremely prompt and helpful. I thought I had included a tapping hammer but I missed it. I emailed Jun Lin and team and they responded and added it promptly.

These tools are beautifully made with care and attention to detail. The pony is solid, holds fast your leather project so it doesn't slip. It's a fantastic design. Versatile enough to clamp to your most any work surface and no screws, handles or clamps to interfere with thread getting hung up. The only minor criticism is that the cam clamp can be difficult to open once it is locked down. It could use a slightly larger finger cut out to make un-clamping more accessible. It's minor and I just use one of the included hex wrenches or a another smooth tool.

The tapping hammer is nicely finished. The casting is well ground. It feels very good and evenly balanced in hand.

They even included a nice, hand written thank you note.

This is BY FAR the best stitching pony I’ve come across. Steel and solid walnut, it’s built like a tank and the fit and finish are really extraordinary. Shipping was fast and the pony was very securely packed. So glad I decided to get one!
